Notices to Mariners

Merchant Shipping (Reporting Requirements For Ships Carrying Dangerous Or Polluting Goods) Regulations 1995

Mariners are reminded that the above regulations apply to all ships carrying dangerous and polluting cargoes and include the requirement for the Master of the ship to supply a completed Schedule 2 checklist (refer to Merchant Shipping Notice No. M.1630) to the pilot boarding the vessel or to the harbour authority in the absence of a pilot.

In order to avoid the possibility of any delay, it is clearly in the interest of vessels to ensure that this checklist is completed in advance of their arrival at the Pilot Boarding Station or Harbour Limits.

Owners, Agents and Charterers should ensure that the contents of this Notice are made known to the Masters or persons in charge of their vessels or craft.
