This small chapel, dated 1846, is accessed either from the woodland behind, or up a fairly steep green 'lane' from the bottom of the valley. It is still used occasionally for worship and community gatherings but is suffering from the result of little maintenance over the years.
The intention of the owners is to maintain and enhance the community usage of the chapel as well as encourage visitors by holding musical events. A certain amount of local fundraising has been done but hardly enough to tackle the repairs required - the main defect being an inherent design fault: there is inadequate ventilation beneath the floor which is causing worsening damp problems. The school room at the rear has had some recent structural subsidence also.
