Risk Category 1
Conservation Area? No
This 18th century barn, timber framed on a rubble stone plinth and corrugated iron roof, still displays some (although less since it was listed in 1985) interwoven ventilation panels.
Both ends of the building are covered in ivy growth, there are many gaps in the corrugated iron roofing and many of the in-fill panels are gone. This building needs immediate safeguarding.
The barn is accessed via a track which runs in-between Northend Farmhouse and a recently converted barn. The potential for its re-use should be investigated in the form of a feasibility study. Planning consent was obtained in 1991 for change of use to a stallion box but no Listed Building Consent application was submitted.
The authority is actively encouraging the owner to tackle essential repairs.
