In the Royal Forest of Dean
There are many lakes in the Forest of Dean, all offering something different for the fisherman.
The Forest of Dean Angling club offers excellent fishing at their various pools and lakes, but you will need to purchase a permit, and hold a current fishing license.
The fish available in the Forest of Dean lakes and pools include carp, tench, roach, bream, rudd.
Lake and pool fishing locations include:
Cannop Ponds, in the Cannop Valley, central Forest of Dean - two lakes, bream,
roach, rudd, carp, tench.
Lightmoor Pond , near Cinderford - fairly small, but good carp
Meadowcliff Pool, near Cinderford - really tucked away, this small pond is good for carp and tench
Soudley Ponds - fly only trout fishing - private club only, but some day
Fairoak Fishery , near Tintern - two delightful fly only trout ponds, and fly fishing lessons.
River Wye - salmon fishing
River Monnow, Monmouth - wild trout
