The National Diving Centre

Dayhouse Quarry, Tidenham, Chepstow, Monmouthshire, NP16 7LH, Tel: 01291 630046

The UK's newest inland dive site, we opened our gates on 22nd February 2003. The base of the old limestone quarry was re-profiled to provide shallow areas of between 8 and 27 metres as well as various depths to 80 metres.

The water is accessed by 260m of pontoons, configured to give maximum access and egress points and the least amount of swimming.

Open seven days a week, we have a fully stocked dive shop and gas station capable of filling double filtered air, nitrox, trimix, and argon.

We also have rescue facilities and our own recompression chamber.

We have a three year development plan, which will see the building of a diving facility second to none.

Night dives, chamber dives and barbeques by arrangement, please call us to discuss you or your clubs requirements.

Lydney Park Gardens

Without doubt the best time to visit the gardens is during April and early May when the rhododendrons and azalias are in bloom, and the maples are in new leaf.  The vision is breathtakingly beautiful.  The main display is in a sheltered wooded valley with excellent landscaping, pools and dream-like pathways.

Rhododendrons and azalias are available for purchase at very reasonable prices!

Teas are available in the house on open days, and there is ample space for picnics in the Deer Park.

Lydney Park Gardens is situated on the A48 Gloucester-Chepstow road between Lydney and Aylburton.
(20 miles from Gloucester, 8 miles from Chepstow, 12 miles from the Severn Bridge)

The gardens, Roman Camp and Roman Museum are open on certain open days between April and June.  Dates and times of opening vary each year, and can be found by enquiry to the Estate Office, tel. 01594-842844.

Swan Cheesehouse

Pillowell, Lydney, Glos. GL15 4QU
Tel: 01594 562477

The Swan Cheesehouse is a converted public house providing restaurant, bar and shop under one roof, together with a mail order service and a functions capability.

We support small-scale traditional artisan cheesemakers - we collect all the cheese ourselves direct from the farm. We specialise in raw-milk cheeses - all the evidence agrees the cheeses made from raw-milk develop a fuller flavour than those from pasteurised milk. Our regular cheeses are, naturally, from Gloucestershire and the West Country - in addition, we have guest cheeses from all over Britain (including Ireland).

We are now adding new product groups including wines, bottled beers and ciders, preserves (chutneys and pickles, sauces and dressings, herbs and spices, jams and honeys) and confectionery - all of the top quality and all from the West Country.
