Frankly, links to web pages outside the local web pages "umbrella" present us with a little problem. The whole concept of having an extensive set of web pages for the district is that visitors to the pages stay within the district, and do not "escape" to other districts or to other topics. They can visit a town page, and see its associated business and services pages, they can visit the tourist or accommodation pages and find their way to other individual pages and local advertisements. Try to look at the problem from the point of view of those companies and organisations who have paid to have web pages and advertisements within these local area pages.
We therfore find ourselves offering a compromise solution:
An annual charge of £15.00 + vat will be made for creating a link to an external web page
We insist on the external page displaying the "Forest of Dean Home Page" graphic in a prominent position, with a link back to the Forest of Dean pages at http://www.fweb.org.uk/dean/ (If you would like to capture and save the graphic at the right to disk, so that you can include it in your web page, simply point to it now and click on your right hand mouse button, and select "Save Picture as..." on the drop down menu. (For pages more relevant to the Ross on Wye & South Herefordshire district pages, then a link to those would be more applicable, at http://www.fweb.org.uk/ross/)
We reserve the right to decline applications for external links if the destination page includes further links to other pages outside the local district. We reserve the right to remove a link to your page (without refund) if you subsequently add such links.
Once visitors are within the local web pages "umbrella" we want them to come back after viewing your page. That way, we all benefit.
