GEORGE INN |

|
| The George Inn Bruce Bennett St Briavels Nr Lydney Glos GL15 6TA Tel: 01594 530228 |
The George is an unspoilt family-run 16th Century free house overlooking St Briavels Castle, once used as a hunting lodge by King John. The pub is situated in a quiet, pretty village on the fringe of the Wye Valley and Royal Forest of Dean, between the ancient market towns of Chepstow and Monmouth. We have a reputation for home made dishes using fresh local beef, pork, lamb, and fish, all of which can be enjoyed in any of three rambling, beamed rooms with real fires. One room contains an 8th Century Celtic coffin lid. Good selection of fine wines, whiskies and traditional ales. Comfortable en-suite accommodation with choice of breakfasts. No smoking restaurant. Good pub guide. |
